Original Leonhart, a joinery with a clear focus. This is where foosball tables are made. From the pub version with coin-op to the yacht version made of solid wood. One is even certified as a tournament foosball table. Production is well-established and has recently been supplemented by the Epicon 5-axis machining center from Holz-Her.
Each foosball table is unique and can be customized in the online configurator. There is a choice of professional, design, branding, pub and entry-level models. The production process is almost always the same, every step is carefully thought through. The family business from Pilsting in Bavaria has been focusing on quality and durability since 1949. CNC machining centers ensure these standards in production. In 2023, a new Epicon 5-axis CNC with console table from Holz-Her was added. [...]
Production with the latest technology
Once the panels have been cut to size and covered with HPL in individual colors, they are sent to the new processing center: the Epicon 5-axis CNC 7235-495 with console table from Holz- Her. As the workpieces are usually the same and new ones are rarely added, the machine requirements could be clearly defined. With the console table, panels up to 5480 x 1650 mm or several workpieces can be processed simultaneously. Thanks to a generous Z-stroke of 565 mm, the maximum workpiece height is 300 mm (measured from the top edge of the 125 mm high vacuum suction cup). A traveling tool magazine with 18 pockets and a holder for saw blades up to 350 mm provide enough space for all machine tools. The Safe Detect non-contact safety monitoring system makes additional safety devices superfluous. The Synchro-Drive console table with 8 consoles is a fully automatic, software-controlled table with servo drives that position the consoles and suction carriage precisely and synchronously.
Select, place, start milling
The workflow is simple: Andreas Fiedler creates each part once directly at the machine terminal in NC Hops. He uses variable programming (one macro per part) in order to be flexible in terms of size later on. For machining, the program is opened and the workpiece or workpieces are positioned on the screen. The suction cup positions are calculated automatically. On the machine table, the consoles including the suction cup carriage move fully automatically and a contour laser shows the operator where which suction cup variants need to be positioned and then the exact position of the workpieces. For the new acquisition, Andreas Fiedler revised and optimized the programs for each component, partly with the support of a Holz-Her technician. In addition to Fiedler, there are two other machine operators in the company. The three of them took part in a three-day training course from Holz-Her, which met all the requirements. “If we ever need a component that is too complex for us, I can contact Holz-Her and have a program created for me,” explains Fiedler.
